1. Discussion and possible action to set a work meeting for September 28, 2016 to discuss the possible allowance of RV Resorts in La Verkin City.
Commissioner Bice reported a zone would need to be created for this.
Derek passed out a copy of the proposed RV Resort development plan and the permission letter allowing him to share the plan with this group.
The work meeting is not to talk about the specific development but to create a zone that would allow this type of development.
There is also a list of ideas from ordinances of other cities that staff felt addressed some of their concerns. And a list of possible requirements such as minimum and/or maximum acreage.
If the Commissioners are in favor of this type of development, we may need to start holding two meetings per month.
Commissioner Benson would like to add eating facilities to the list of possible allowed uses.
Commissioner Sherman Howard asked how the development would be accessed.
Derek explained it would share an access with the La Quinta hotel being built as well as the improved road being put in off Main Street.
There was a discussion on the importance of creating an ordinance that would prevent developments like the one proposed from becoming like the trailer parks that La Verkin use to have.

Motion was made by Commissioner Hugh Howard to adjourn, second by Commissioner Sherman Howard. Sherman Howard-yes, Hugh Howard-yes, Bice-yes, Benson-yes. Motion carried unanimously at 6:13pm.
