Burn permits may be obtained through dispatch at 627-4949. Permits may also be obtained by going to www.hurricanevalleyfire.org or www.sgcity.org/police/burnpermits.php on line. Always check with dispatch or the website before burning as the dates of the burn season can change. Also be aware that anyone burning without a permit is liable for citation.

The Department of Environmental Quality; Division of Air Quality regulates open burning in the State of Utah.
The Air Conservation Act allows burning of weed growth along ditch banks incident to clearing those ditches for irrigation purposes. The clearing of weed growth by open burning does not include trash, garbage or other debris deposited in or along ditch banks. Individuals who attempt to evade the intent of the permissible ditch clearing may be in violation and may be subject to civil penalties upheld by the statute. All other burning must be done during the prescribed burn season.
