Culinary Water Project Update

The LaVerkin City Culinary Water Improvements Project 2010 is in full swing...Water-Project

Work continues on State Street where the old line that runs under the highway and was inherited from Hurricane in the 1970's, will be abandoned. New 12" service pipe is being installed under the sidewalk from 630 North to 300 South. The water project will improve fire flows to state requirements, and is expected to reduce the amount of water loss from the historic line.

The project's main focus is to replace the old State Street culinary line, but also has some side-street work included. A new 8" culinary line has been installed in 400 N. The old 6" line will become an irrigation line in the future. The hydrant has been moved to connect to the new line, and a valve has been installed. New culinary lines have been laid in 125 W. and 630 N. as well. Pipe will also be installed from Bringhurst Lane on the Toquerville border to the bridge near the River Wood Subdivision on LaVerkin's northern boundary.

The project has a time line of 75 days for completion and is under contract with Hawker Enterprises.
